Obituary for Robert Joseph Eichelsderfer

Robert Joseph Eichelsderfer, 70, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014.

Born in Binghamton, NY, he was the son of the late Theodore and Edna Case Eichelsderfer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Ross. Robert was a US Navy veteran and was a retired aircraft mechanic. He restored a 1993 Ford F150 flare side, enjoyed antique car shows, gardening, fishing, cooking, yard work and he loved dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Eichelsderfer; two sons, John Eichelsderfer of Bushnell, FL and Robert Eichelsderfer of Windsor, NY; faithful canine companion, Taylor; brother, Jim Eichelsderfer of Melrose, FL; sister, JoAnn Welsh of Melrose, FL; three grandchildren, Cameron, Julie and Brianna and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, October 17, at the Franklin Fire Department. Rev. Vic Greene will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.

The family will receive friends from 3:30-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Franklin Fire Department.

Memorial donations can be made to the Appalachian Animal Rescue Center, PO Box 81, Franklin, NC 28744 or Angel Hospice General Fund, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
