Obituary for William Russell Lequire

William “Russell” Lequire, 41, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015.

Born in Andrews, NC, he was the son of Carl William Lequire, Jr. of Topton, NC and Glenda Reece of Robbinsville, NC. Russell was a member of Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church and attended Central Baptist Church. He fished Heartland Anglers, B.F.L. and loved to play softball, golf and hunt. He was a supervisor for Globe Communications.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tammy Mashburn Lequire; two children, Megan Lequire and Daniel Lequire both of Franklin; mother-in-law, Barbara Mashburn of Franklin; brother-in-law, Loyd Mashburn and wife Evelyn of Franklin and grandfather, Richard Davis of Robbinsville, NC and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Daryl Dockery will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Loyd Mashburn, Tony Holbrooks, Randy Boshears, Chad Gibson, Timmy Holbrooks, Mike Cope, Richard Reece and Jeff McConnell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Chad Stone, Terry Scott and Stephen Bryson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
