Obituary for Leona Debty Ferguson (Hughes)
Leona Hughes Debty Ferguson, 75, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
Born in Murphy, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Jackson Hughes and Tisha Iowa Beavers Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Arnold, Rufus, Bert and Tommy Hughes and Nadean Davenport. Leona enjoyed fishing, quilting, photography, traveling and spending time with family. She was a member of Longview Baptist Church in Franklin, NC.
She is survived by three daughters, Darlene Kimsey of Franklin, Lydia “Louise” Brown and husband Bob of Gainesville, GA and Carol Dorris of Marietta, GA; sister, Rose King of Blairsville, GA; five grandchildren, Charlece Golden, Annette Hood, Todd Stalcup, Emily Kimsey and Emilie Brown Richardson; three great grandchildren, Carlin Golden, Chandler Hood and Corbin Luke Hood and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Burial will be in Longview Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 16th at Macon Funeral Home.
Memorial donations can be made to Longview Baptist Church Cemetery, Lewy Bodies Dementia Association or Giddeons International.
