Charles "Charlie" Carlton  Ledbetter
Charles “Charlie” Carlton Ledbetter, 73, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015.

Born in Macon Co, NC, he was the son of the late Lyman Ledbetter and Lassie Anderson Ledbetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harry and Joe Ledbetter and sister, Blanche Southard. Charlie was a member of Cartoogechaye Baptist Church. He had a big heart; he loved his family immensely and prayed constantly for them. In all things, he put the Lord first and was a faithful witness of the gospel. He enjoyed singing since he was a child and could be found hunting or fishing in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jean Moore Ledbetter; daughter, Patty Rash and husband Scott of Asheville; sisters, Essie Dills of Franklin, Mary Bridges of Pensacola, FL, Dorothy Crisp, Janie Bishop and Wilma Ledbetter all of Canton, GA; brother, David Ledbetter of Franklin; grandchildren, Trevor Hedden San Antonio, TX and Michaella Hedden of Franklin and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Cartoogechaye Baptist Church. Reverends Brian Southard, Robert Dryman, Truman Wilson and Justin Bishop will officiate. Burial will be in the Moore Welch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to the service, at the church.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Gibson, Brandon Shepherd, Guy Gooder, Charles Southard, Ricky Ledbetter and Gary Lee Crisp. Dwight Bishop, Wade Waldroop, Wayne Sanders, Frank Ledbetter and Mike Collins will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorial donations can be made to the Moore Welch Cemetery Fund, 351 Saunders Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
