Jerry Ray Miller, precious husband of Pamela Miller, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015.
Born February 1, 1951 in Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Clarence Miller and Elizabeth Tack Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Georgia Miller; a daughter, Michelle Miller and two grandchildren, Dillon Bailey and Kenleigh Kirchman. Jerry worked as a supervisor at Hot Spot for 25 years; attended Windy Gap Baptist Church and Prentiss Church of God; was a foster parent; EMT; volunteer for Reynolds Fire Department and was a coach for Buncombe County Softball League. Above all else Jerry was the most proud of his family and friends and his limitless ability to love unconditionally and give selflessly of himself to everyone that had the honor to know him.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Ledford Miller; seven children, Breanna Aiello Kirchman (Scott) of Williamsburg, VA; Marianne Bailey (Ken) of Leicester, NC; Ray Miller of Asheville; Joey Miller (Brittany) of Asheville; Brantley Williams (fiancé Haley) of Franklin; Rogar Williams of Franklin and Alexia Martin of Franklin; brother, Dale Miller of Asheville; sister, Barbara English of Weaverville; sister-in-law, Kathy Thompson of Franklin; brother-in-law, Kennie Ledford of Franklin; eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 25, at Windy Gap Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Tim Hayes will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 24, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Breanna Aiello Kirchman, Scott Kirchman, Brantley Williams, Ray Miller, Kennie Ledford and Justin Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Trevor Bailey and Trenton Kirchman.
