Obituary for Alfred James Turgeon

Alfred James  Turgeon
Alfred James Turgeon, 85, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the last surviving child of 16 to the late Samuel H. and Marie R. Turgeon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Florence May Turgeon who died July 11, 2015 and daughter, Ruth Turgeon. Alfred worked for more than 40 years in commercial printing. He enjoyed playing the guitar, keyboard and piano; music was his love. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Toccoa, GA and attended Franklin Church of God in Franklin.

He is survived by four children, Diane Shaw of Statesville, NC, David Turgeon and wife Barbara of Gulfport, MS, Deborah Hastings and husband Sam of Franklin and Cynthia Patrick and husband Alan of Toccoa, GA; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28th at Franklin Church of God. Rev. David Hastings and Rev. Michael Stephens will officiate. Burial will be held at 3:30 PM, in the Toccoa City Cemetery in Toccoa, GA.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM prior to the service at the church.


Pallbearers will be Scott Turgeon, Mike Turgeon, Tony Turgeon, Michael Turgeon, Daniel Scott, Dave Turgeon and Brian Shaw.
