Obituary for Virginia Tallent (Moore)

Virginia Moore Tallent, 76, of Franklin, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 5, 2016.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Windle William Moore and Allie Jennings Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Wallace Eugene Tallent who died January 14, 2004 and a son, James Keith Tallent who died October 19, 2012 and a brother, Edward Moore and two infant brothers. She enjoyed gardening, canning, growing flowers, cooking and gospel music. Virginia was a faithful member of Windy Gap Baptist Church. She loved her church and pastor dearly.

She is survived by a daughter, Audrey Buchanan and husband Coleman; sister, Betty Nichols Holland of Franklin; brother, Harold Moore of Franklin; two grandchildren, Jesse Wallace Buchanan and Chris Tallent and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9 at Windy Gap Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, February 8 at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Dills, Mark Holland, Olin Ledford, Clyde McCall, Ben West and Jimmy Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Scott and David Lee Williams.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Windy Gap Baptist Church or Angel Hospice.
