Janet Reba Neal (Welch), 65, of Franklin, passed away Monday, May 23, after a hard fought battle with an illness.
Born in Pontiac, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Ann Welch of Franklin. She is survived by her husband Keith, and two daughters, Andrea Jones and son-in-law, Mike, of Simpsonville, SC, and Danielle Crowe, and son-in-law, Julian, of Inman, SC. She was preceded in death by her sister, Anita Gail Welch, of Franklin and survived by siblings Gerald Welch and wife, Faye, of Franklin, TN, and Sharon Welch Bowes and husband, Bobby, of Franklin, NC, and Doug Welch and wife Sheila, of Franklin, NC. She was the proud grandmother of Kameron and Kyleigh Jones of Simpsonville, SC, and Austin, Lauren and Grayson Crowe, of Inman, SC. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, many close friends, and beloved canine companion, Jack.
All who knew Janet will remember her for her generosity, quick-wit, her famous ‘one-liners’, as a masterful quilter, baker and a talented glass artisan. She gave us love, hope, joy, creativity and the spirit of a good fight. She was brilliant in every way and will live in memory as a lesson of a life well lived.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 25th at 2:00 pm at Macon Funeral Home. A graveside service at Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery will directly follow. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.
