Obituary for Linda Evitt Young
Linda Evitt Young, 83, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Evitt and Eva Bowman Evitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Frank Young who died in 2014 and a sister, Jackie Franks. Linda retired from Macon Program for Progress where she worked as a Head Start Teacher. She was a lifelong member of Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Randy Kevin Rogers and wife Lori, Vicki Peek and husband Wesley and Kaye Cabe all of Franklin; three grandchildren, Mark Peek, Michael Peek and Jeremy Cabe and three great grandchildren, Parker Cabe, Brennan Cabe and Elias Peek.
Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Neil Moore and Rev. Bud Haire will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cabe, Mark Peek, Michael Peek, Jack Henry, Gerald Woods, Carl Mincey and Morlan Bowman.
Memorial donations can be made to Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Wanda Bolick, 80 Woodrows Lane, Franklin, NC 28734.
