Obituary for Clyde Ray Wiggins

Clyde Ray Wiggins, 77, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

Born in Swain County, NC, he was the son of the late Sherrill Conley Wiggins and Mayme Iona McCracken Wiggins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Pauline Wiggins and one brother, Wayne Conley Wiggins. Clyde loved bowling, going to Friday night football games and watching the Tarheels and Atlanta Braves games. He was a member of Sugarfork Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty “Sue” Waldroop Wiggins; one son, Michael Wiggins of Franklin; one sister, Hattie Mae Potts of Franklin; one brother, John Lyndon Wiggins of Salem, VA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 21st at Sugarfork Baptist Church. Rev. Gene Hawkins will officiate. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Rick Potts, Hank Conner, David Hastings, Harold Crisp, Don Mullins and Clifford Waldroop. Deacons of Sugarfork Baptist Church, Gerald Hannah and Roger Bishop will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
