Leona Mason Weirick, 76, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016.

Born in Swain Co., she was the daughter of late Avery Greene and Nellie Slagle Greene. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband Daniel Gerald Mason and one brother, Sevear Greene. Leona was previously a member of the American Daylilies Society and the Western Carolina Dahlia Society. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and attended Trinity Assembly of God.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Albert Weirick; five children, Shelba Kyker and husband Keith of Sniedville, TN, Steve Mason and wife Dusty, Mark Mason and wife Laressie, Rhonda Duvall and husband Terry and Robin Chastain and husband Mike all of Franklin; two step-children, Damon Weirick of Herdon, VA and Chantal Sheehan and husband Tim of Brevard, NC; one brother, David Greene of Dillsboro, NC; two sisters, Lillian Greene of Sylva, NC and Betty Brooks of Dillsboro, NC; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Ballew will officiate. Burial will be in the Full Gospel Prayer House Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 13th at Macon Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to COPD Foundation or Breast Cancer Research.
