Mattie Faye Norris, 84, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016.

Born in Macon County, NC, she was the daughter of the late King M. Phillips and Allie Mae Sanders Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Barnard Phillips and two sisters, Margie Curtis and Susie Bradley. Mattie was a member of Franklin Church of God serving in the women’s ministry and on the senior citizens prayer committee for the elders. She enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by three daughters, Gloria Scott, Stella Haire and Charlene Marcus and husband Hastel all of Franklin; sisters, Fannie Sanders and Ruby Hodgins both of Franklin; brother, Ellis “Bud” Harold Phillips of Bryson City; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 24, at Franklin Church of God. Rev. Michael Stephens, Rev. Phillip Cochran and Rev. Robert Dryman will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 23, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Henry, David Marcus, Curtis Blackwell, Tatum Talley, Eddie Downs and Raymond Holland.
