Susan Stockton Ehle passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the age of 75.
She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Franklin, NC. She was the loving sister of Marietta “Missy” Ehle Ernst, niece of Herbert Fitzhugh Adey II, and aunt of Kimberly Elizabeth Ehle, Davidson Stockton Ehle III (Geraldine), Linda Ann Doussan, Susan Elizabeth Haydel, and Shelley Erin Haydel (Trey). She is also lovingly remembered and survived by many lifelong friends, including her closest friend, Mary Cathey, and her beloved four-legged companions, Shuggah Magnolia Blossom Cathey, Sophie Marie Landry Ehle, and Cuddleigh Lynn Ehle. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Davidson Stockton Ehle, Sr., her mother, Marietta Anne Adey Ehle, her brother, Davidson Stockton Ehle, Jr., and her niece, Karen Erica Ehle Catalanotto. After a successful career in banking, Susan earned her nursing degree from Victoria College School of Nursing in Victoria, TX and enjoyed a long, dedicated career as an ICU Registered Nurse at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA. She was an avid golfer and dedicated fan of the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers.
Relatives and friends are invited to join us in celebrating and honoring the memory of Susan at a Celebration of Life event at 30 Carolyn Court, Arabi, LA 70032 on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
An additional Celebration of Life event will be held from 1-3:00 p.m., Monday, February 13th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan’s honor to the Best Friends Animal Society (bestfriends.org), Humane Society (humanesociety.org), ASPCA (aspca.org), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org), or the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
