Obituary for Allen Leo Dills

Allen Leo Dills, 57, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of Barbara Lee Cabe Dills and the late James Leo “Leon” Dills. Allen was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed making music, operating his Hamm radio, camping and fishing.

In addition to his mother, Barbara Cabe Dills, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debbie Maynard Dills; son, James Dills and Amber Conner of Franklin; daughter, Rebecca Necessary and husband Jeremy of Newport, TN; two sisters, Margaret “Marty” Mason and David Pendergrass of Otto and Melba M. Justus of Mountain City, GA; one grandson, Landen Dills; step granddaughter, Caroline Watson; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral Servcie will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, February 2, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jamie Passmore and Rev. Greg Rogers will officiate. Private burial will be held on Friday.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Derick Maynard, George Maynard, Jonathan Tallent, Royce Wood, Algie Bolick and Larry Dills.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gilmer Watts, Corey Watts, Ben Carpenter, Don Pace and Paul Shepherd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cullasaja Volunteer Fire Department, National Federation for the Blind or Buck Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
