Obituary for Sally Queen Cook (Queen)

Sally Queen Cook (Queen)
Sally Queen Cook, 64, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

Born in Bryson City, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lance Queen and Arbutus Anne Holden Queen. Sally was a well-known and respected hairdresser; some would even say she was the “best” during the 80’s. She was the first to restore the McCollum House in Franklin. She loved music and dancing and also enjoyed reading, gardening flowers and vegetables from seed and canning. She attended Tellico Baptist Church and Riverside Baptist Church. Sally loved everyone and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ted Cook; three children, Amanda Jayne Cook of Franklin, Jacob Teddy Cook (Brittany) of Sylva, and Rachael Cook Robinson (Jonathan) of Clyde, NC; two granddaughters, Ivry Jayne Tallent and Anistyn Gentry Cook; one brother, Dr. Michael Lance Queen of Lake Wylie, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 10th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home.
Rev. Vic Greene and Rev. Bobby Cloer will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9th at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Cook, Jonathan Robinson, Tracy Cook, Casey Pannel, Jamie Stiles and Justin Reed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
