Obituary for Minnie L. Talley (Shepherd)
Minnie L. Talley, age 81, of Ball Ground, GA passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Fred H. Talley, Sr; brother, John D. Shepherd; parents, Perry and Lola Messer Shepherd. Mrs. Talley is survived by her daughter, Janice Gayla Talley-Riddle, Ball Ground, GA; son, Fred H. Talley, Jr and wife, Gina, Talking Rock, GA; grandchildren, Seth Douglas Talley and his wife Heather, Erica Brooke Celler and her husband Eric, Emily Armanda Talley, and Ashleigh Lynn Riddle; great grandchild, David Grayson Riddle; sisters, Betty Tallent, Greenville, SC, Janice C. and David Younce, Murphy, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Maxine Shepherd, Candler, NC, Robert and Judy Shepherd, Ray and Barbara Shepherd, Kenneth and Shirley Shepherd, Raymond and Laverne Shepherd, all of Franklin, NC; and brother Steve Shepherd, Franklin; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Talley was born on July 17, 1935 in Franklin, NC. She was a 1953 graduate of Franklin High School. She worked for the state of Georgia in food services, and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Talley was a member of Ball Ground United Methodist Church, and a member of Overseas Dancers Association. She enjoyed traveling and square dancing.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA with Rev. Ash McEuen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Minnie Talley.
