Obituary for Dorothy Childers (Fouts)
Dorothy Fouts Childers, 94, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Alex Rozell Fouts and Hazel Dewees Fouts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Childers and three brothers, Lewis, James Reid and Claude Fouts. Dorothy was a retired school teacher. She was an active member of Iotla Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching, sewing, quilting and reading.
She is survived nephews, Junior Fouts and wife Carolyn and Larry Fouts and wife Aylen of Franklin, who were her caregivers and nephews, Ricky Fouts and Benny Reynolds both of Franklin and nieces, Claudette Fouts Hodge of Columbus, GA, Carol Jean Fouts Whitaker and Vickie Fouts Crivea both of Michigan, Norma Cochran of Bryson City and Joyce Queen of Lexington, NC.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves, Rev. Brandon Breedlove and Rev. Jim Cochran will officiate. Burial will be in the Fouts Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jim Fouts, Gerald Fouts, Bucky Asby, George Lynch, Wayne Lynch and Josh Lynch.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
