Barbara Hedden Ledford, 83, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017.

Born in Jackson Co, NC, she was the daughter of the late J. Quince Hedden and Emma Stewart Hedden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth D. Ledford; one step-daughter, Vivian Watts; one sister, Hester Keener and one brother, Dwight Hedden. Barbara enjoyed reading, genealogy, crossword puzzles and studying local history. She was a member of Longview Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Faith Powell and husband Bruce of Marietta, GA and Frieda Teem and husband Johnny of Franklin; one step daughter, Deborah Foster of Madison, GA; six sisters, June Hedden of Lilburn, GA, Mary Keener of Highlands, NC, Shelba McFarland of Virginia Beach, VA, Helen Justice of Hendersonville, NC, Alice Lee of Knoxville, TN and Hope Calloway of Cullowhee, NC; two grandchildren, Davis Powell and Josh Teem and wife Crystal; two great granddaughters, Blair and Hadlee Teem and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 20th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Nahlen, Rev. Billy Sellers and Rev. Mark Bishop will officiate. Burial will be in the Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brent Buchanan, Kellen Buchanan, Mark Justice, Buddy Miller, Clinton Ledford and Paul Dalton.
