Janice Reynolds Dowdle, 89, of Otto, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017.

Born in Macon County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Harley Reynolds and Ora Curtis Reynolds Castle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Anderson and Clarence “Shorty” Dowdle; son, Larry Anderson and a brother, R.L. Reynolds. Janice worked for over 20 years at the Clayton Shirt Factory as a supervisor and owned Jan’s Antiques and Thrift Shop for many years. She was an active member of Otto Community Development where she was once recognized as woman of the year for Macon County; was involved with the Otto Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was a member of the Coweeta Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Brenda Anderson York of Oxford, GA; son, JC Anderson (Wilma) of Otto, NC; step-daughter, Bessie Dowdle Taylor; grandchildren, Tammy Holland (Brian), Gina York; Mia Overton (Tom), Andrea, Tye and Colby Anderson; step-granddaughters, Donna, Lisa and Tammy Taylor; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sister, Geneva Carpenter and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Brian Holland will officiate. Graveside service will be held at the Coweeta Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bud Haire officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, December 19, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Colby Anderson, Christopher Holland, Matthew Holland, Joshua Holland, Nathaniel Holland, Blake Henderson, Cody Clark and Ronnie Castle.
