Edith Sanders Elders, 78, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018.

Edith was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Sanders; her husband, Houston Elders; and her daughter, Tonda Elders Woodard. She was a dedicated member of Watauga Baptist Church as well as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Cooking, canning, and taking care of the family were among Edith’s most treasured hobbies. In addition to this, she enjoyed traveling with her granddaughter, Summer, who has many fond memories of their time together. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Summer Woodard of Franklin her sister, Marie Sanders of Sylva and her aunt Ann Sanders of Franklin.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10th at Watauga Baptist Church. Revs. Wesley Price and David Lee Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9th at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Bishop, Alvin Johnson, Ray Sanders, Mark Berry, Alan McWilliams and Norris Clouse.

Memorial donations can be made to the Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
