Condolence From: Michael
Condolence: Nana, You already must know just how dear you and Papa are to myself and everyone who has known you. I will never forget some of the memories I shared with Papa, and specifically the joy he had in his Christmas present creations to myself, David, Steven, and the cousins. I remember the altered banana, the altered twinkie, the three kings, the dancing santas, the singing gorillas, and even the box in a box in a box in a box gifts that required searching and determination to unwrap. I can just picture Papa wandering through stores looking for just the right item in which to hide/stash a gift, with a twinkle in his eye and a plan in his mind. I'll never forget the warmth in his smile and hands that always made me feel loved and at home, or his easy sense of humor that always managed to turn a tense moment into a laugh. From key lime pie to cream soda and coffee cake, nobody knew how to cheer a person up better than he. My thoughts and prayers are with you as always; stay warm and I will see you in June! Love, hugs, and kisses, Michael

Condolence: Dear Nana, Words can't express how sad I am that Papa is no longer with us. I feel so lucky to have met both of you, and I will never forget all the great times we've had over the past few years. It feels like just yesterday Dave and I were coming over to visit for dinner - we sat outside in the warm sun as Papa cooked grilled chicken...and of course who could forget his famous Key Lime pie, yum! Dave still talks about that pie to this day :) Papa was always so kind and I don't think I ever remember seeing him without a smile on his face. His positive and cheerful outlook is something I strive to carry on in my own life. I am so happy to be part of such a loving family with wonderful grandparents to look up to - I will never forget what I great person Papa was or the memories we've made. You're in my thoughts and prayers everyday. Love, Kristine

Condolence: So many memories...so many happy times. Picnics in the backyard and Marcellus Park, family vacations to Kingston and Winsted, camping at Letchworth, birthday parties with the musical cake holder and the ballerina candleholders; communions, confirmations, graduations, christenings, Christmas and Thanksgiving celebrations, weddings...and Dad always there with a smile on his face and a coffeecake in his hand, a kind word or a humorous line that would make his grandchildren laugh. We are truly wealthy in terms of love and memories; our treasure is all the happy moments that Dad - and you too, Mom - created for us over so many years.

Condolence From: Amudhan C. Viswanathan
Condolence: Dear Nana, It was so tough for me to come to terms with the fact that Papa is no longer with us. It has been so wonderful to have you and Papa in my life over the past five years as my American grandparents. You both are such kind people. I will always remember how Papa and myself pulled you out of my car to help you get out of the car at St.Joseph's - Papa held your one arm and me the other - it was so funny - so fresh in my memory like yesterday and will always be. I was so glad to see him and talk to him on this past Christmas day. He saw you on TV while I was with him and he kept saying "She is beautiful! She is beautiful!". We share some wonderful memories over the past years. I will miss his funny jokes. He is a good man. He is in peace. There is a belief in the Tamil culture of India that only the pious and kind people get the privilege to pass away in the holy Tamil month of Maarkazhi (December 16th thru January 13th) and become a part of heaven. So, Papa is indeed in heaven. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time. Love, Amudhan C. Viswanathan.

Condolence From: Elinor O'Hare
Condolence: Dear Audrey and Family, Our Heavenly Father has called Bill to be with Him and enjoy eternal happiness in Heaven. So many family members and friends were surely there to give him a royal welcome! How thrilled and ecstatically happy he must be now! Although we miss him deeply, we must remember how blessed we were to have this wonderful, humble, selfless, kind, unpretentious man in our lives! I loved his strength of character, his remarkable sense of humor, his encouraging words and his quiet demeanor that put everyone at ease. It was a delight to see how happy he was talking about his family! He loved his devoted wife and family with a deep, unconditional love. Bill also had a firm faith. He lived his faith quietly and thoroughly, letting nothing deter him from God's purpose for him - to know, love and serve the Lord. He did this lovingly throughout his whole life. May we all follow in Bill's footsteps - especially the grandchildren who are young and need a "bright light" to follow. Bill will lead us through the challenges of this world to our eternal home in Heaven where on day we will all be united!! I love you, dearest Brother, and miss you every day. God bless you, Audrey, and our wonderful family, Elinor

Condolence: Dearest Audrey, Cathy, Ginny and Maggi, we send our deepest sympathy to you with your loss of Bill, the most gracious and gentle man. He was a shining example of who we should all be: kind, welcoming, loving. He lived his religion without preaching, but quietly, and accepting of all. He gave his sons-in-law and grandsons a model of what a fine, gentle man should be.

Condolence From: Pat and Tom
Condolence: Bill was always a gentle giant to me; tall, handsome blessed with gifts of love joy, patience, kindness, humor,faithfulness,self-control ( Gal: 5.2) sure signs of the presence of God. Well, maybe self-control needed a little work for Bill did love sweets. Bill was a holy man whose holiness was so evident in the way he lived his life. Who else could be so loyal to nocturnal adoration pulling himself from his warm bed to keep the Lord company during the hours no one else wanted? He taught us what is important in life.. Quiet in his suffering, loving his beloved Audrey and beautiful daughters to the end, Bill taught us how to die. We will miss his giant presence and huge heart.
