Winnie Hedgel Dills, 95, of West Dills Creek Rd., passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011.

Born in Macon Co., she was the daughter of the late Alan Moreland Dills and Ida Sarah Shope Dills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dills who passed away in 1989; daughter, June Carpenter and infant son; brother, James Dills; three sisters, Hazel Dills, Nina Collier, Hallie Fowler and four grandchildren, Sarah Dills, Michael Dills, Christie Dills and Terry Brown. Winnie loved gardening, flowers and quilting. She was Cartoogechaye Baptist Church’s oldest member.

She is survived by four children, Raymond Dills and wife Sue, Tommy Dills and wife Brenda, Sue Brown and husband Jerry and Paul Dills and wife Dorothy all of Franklin; sister, Jackie Johnson of Washington; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 2 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy Fouts and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Dills Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Dills, Keith Dills, Stacy Dills, Kevin Brown, Lucky Dills, Simon Wilson and Brandon Coleman.
