Sharing the Gift
This precious lady was so gifted, in many ways I don't even know, because we really weren't together on many occasions. But every time we were together, I learned from her. She taught me how to play accompaniment on a QChord, and we enjoyed a couple of visits singing and jamming together. She shared her wonderful art, and I am so privileged to have a piece of it in my home. Most of all, she shared her joy and sparkle. The last time we saw each other was just a few weeks before her passing. She was reclining in Jeannie's living room, and Lauren was caring for her as she had been for so long. Irene was animated in her greeting, and made me feel as if I was the one person she'd been waiting to see all day (not at all likely, but joyfully received!). Her grace, talent, generosity, and joy were - are - gifts I will always remember with a smile and much gratitude.
