Obituary for Carlo Joseph Pastore

Carlo Joseph Pastore, 88, of Franklin, N.C., passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

He was born in New Rochelle, NY, the son of the late Carlo Joseph Pastore Sr. and Domizia DiBianco Pastore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Andrews. He was raised in the Catholic faith. Carlo was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker of exceptional skill and talent, equally comfortable working with all types of materials, wood, stainless steel and tile. If you could describe it, Carlo could design and make it.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Harris Pastore; two daughters, Cathy (Charlie) Acocella of Brewster, NY and Carla (John) Leddy of Jensen Beach, FL; three grandsons, Peter (Lore) Acocella and Christopher Acocella of Brewster, NY, and John (Melanie) Leddy, Jr. of Jensen Beach, FL and three great grandchildren, Peter Acocella Jr., Jayden and Chloe Leddy. He is also survived by his brother, Dominic Pastore of Barefoot Bay, FL and several nieces and nephews.

No local services are planned. A private family service will be held, interment will take place in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Charles George VAMC, Attn: Voluntary Service, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
