I go back to Astoria and Bill's earlier years. late 1940's early 1950's,when all you cared about was basketball, baseball, and football. We played many hours together. We both were tall and skinney and looked alike-in fact my mom hit him with a broom once thinking it was me. I joined the Navy soon after he did because he looked so sharp in the uniform. I will miss his good wit and welcomeing way. Many happy memories.
