I met Tim and a number of other vendors many years ago at a GVMA conference in Macon. My hotel room was across the hall from "vendor party base camp." For some reason I needed a phone book that evening and my venture across the hall to ask for one was the necessary gesture to meet some of the most wonderful folks in the veterinary supply and service industry...most notably Tim. My husband and I went to dinner with many of these fine folks that night and a friendship between Tim and I began. From the moment I met him, I was amazed by his brilliant mind, sense of humor, generous and friendly nature. He came to visit the practice where I worked several times and once even disassembled, repaired and reasssembled my personal large animal stomach pump while he was there. I was awed that he seemed to know every item, part number and even probably the page in the Jorgensen catalog for anything one might ever need or inquire about. I told one of my employers about his "savant" like knowledge of Jorgensen products....and that employer was equally amazed after talking to and subtly "testing" my statement... During the 2006 GVMA meeting Tim took myself and another colleague veterinarian to dinner. She was hugely pregnant at the time and it was rainging that night. He dropped us off at the restaurant door and picked us up after dinner,,,,,,,,,,always the gentleman. Tim and I talked and/or I saw him occassionally during his business visits to my work during the past few years but not for long. I saw him last at the GVMA meeting in Atlanta this past November. He looked great and seeing him and being able to catch up on each other's lives was truly the high point of my being there. We were supposed to meet for dinner but I came down with a cold and declined. He offered to bring me dinner or go to the pharmacy to get me some meds which I also declined but all the while appreciating the dear, sweet wonderful person that he was. OMG!! I cannot believe I will never see him again...or that I missed that last special time to visit with him! CE will never be the same and I will never look at anything Jorgensen related that I don't think of him. I thank God for the opportunity to have known him and to heal my heart in missing him!
