My oldest friend. Started second grade together. Even in grade school he was known for his common sense which was uncommon sense. He was very wise with rock solid judgement. The person you would go to for advice. We graduated together at NC State in 1965. I attended his wedding in Chicago in 1974. We never missed a Christmas card. I visited him at his new home he built himself near Cullowhee several times. He was so proud of that home. Many phone calls. Many visits. I was planning on his friendship for the rest of my life. I will miss him so much.
